Built in 1642 by Christian IV as an observatory for University of Copenhagen astronomers, reached by a 209 m spiral ramp rather than stairs. It contains the 800 m2 Library Hall (now an exhibition space) and a restored observatory dome with a telescope, with public observation on Monday and Tuesday evenings from October to March. Admission is 60 DKK for adults, 40 DKK for students and free for under-18s.
