Denmark's oldest royal garden, laid out by Christian IV in the early 17th century around Rosenborg Castle, and the most visited park in central Copenhagen. It has formal avenues, a rose garden, a herbaceous border and lawns used heavily for picnics in summer. Entry is free; the garden closes at night.
