Samos Wine Museum (UWC Samos, Malagari)

Inside the grounds of the United Winemaking Agricultural Cooperative of Samos at Malagari, just outside Vathy. The building served first as a wine warehouse and later as a cooperage; it opened as a museum in the summer of 2005. Nine themed rooms cover 2,500 years of Samian wine, with QR codes in Greek and English. Inside are old winemaking and cooperage machines and tools, huge wooden casks from the last century, collectible bottles, old photographs and production ledgers, and native vine specimens in display cases. Visits are by prior booking and the ticket includes a tasting of four cooperative wines. Guided tours last 30-40 minutes: Greek every Wednesday and Friday at 12:00, English every Tuesday and Thursday at 12:00.
