A 1592 monastery just south of Mavratzei, known for its carved iconostasis and gilded pulpit.
About
Founded in 1592 by the monk Neilos, who had built Megali Panagia a few years earlier. The present church, a three-aisled domed basilica, replaced the original in 1838 and carries a bell tower above the south door. Inside, the highlights are the carved iconostasis of 1854 with scenes from the Old and New Testaments, the gilded pulpit of 1843 and the episcopal throne of 1844. Four monks live here. The feast day is 14 September, the Exaltation of the Cross.
