The youngest monastery on Samos, built in 1824 in the Katrafili area near Mytilinioi.
About
Built in 1824 by the monk Neofytos, who came from Zoodochos Pigi - which is why it was long called the New Zoodochos Pigi. He found a derelict chapel of the Holy Trinity here at Katrafili, bought it and raised the first cells around it. The church follows the Athonite triconch plan on four columns which, by local tradition, came from an ancient building at Pythagoreio. The layout you see dates from the rebuilding of 1905; the marble iconostasis was made in 1920 and the marble bell tower in 1884. The feast day is the Monday of the Holy Spirit.
