About
Potokaki is the longest beach on Samos, a strip of nearly four kilometres that starts just west of Pythagorio and runs alongside the airport runway — planes come in low overhead and are part of the show. The shore is small and medium pebbles with sandy stretches, and the seabed slopes gently. The eastern half, towards Pythagorio, is the organised end: hotels, beach bars, restaurants, sunbeds, showers, changing rooms and watersports. Walk west and the beach thins out and quietens down.
