Kerveli Beach

The road down from Vathy winds through thick greenery and the bay of Kerveli suddenly opens up. The pebbles are small and white, the water clear, and tamarisk trees near the shore give natural shade. It is not an organised beach in the strict sense, but there are sunbeds, umbrellas and several tavernas and guesthouses around the bay — which is why locals favour it for a Sunday swim followed by lunch.
