Village at 330m with one of the island's loveliest squares and houses with Asia Minor bay windows.
About
The first inhabitants arrived in the late 16th century from Vourla in Asia Minor — hence the name — and left their mark on the houses with their overhanging bay windows and painted shutters. The plane-shaded central square, ringed by kafeneia and tavernas, is widely called the prettiest on Samos. Two kilometres to the south-east stands Moni Vronta, built in 1566 and one of the oldest monasteries on the island, looking out over the whole northern slope.
